Bleach

Now who hasn't heard of Bleach? Shame on you! Probably the only anime to be able to match Dragonball, Naruto, or any other top titles in terms of manga, game releases, movies and anime itself. An unexpected star which somehow made it to the top of the anime list.

Bleach takes the viewers to a world where exists different planes, focusing on one called Soul Society and another called Hueco Mondo. In Soul Society, there are Generals who try to maintain balance by either dispatching hollows (from Hueco Mondo) which invades the human plane or disturbs the peace and balance. Soul Society is constantly faced with threats as evil characters tries to destroy Soul Society either in search of more power or some for revenge purposes. And somehow rather, Soul Society has A LOT of enemies; which is understandable since it is led by a Grand General who seems so damn freaking blur and confused all the time. If you find it hard to understand, try to imagine the usual angel versus demon plot with a few extras.

After reaching 200 episodes, Bleach has not change it style. Viewers are treated with conventional drawing methods, using thin soft lines. Paired with a good combination of colors to keep the visuals interesting. The dull background and environment of the anime makes some of the characters really stand out with their color contrast. Maybe that is what they intended to do? Maybe not?

The amazing thing about Bleach is that throughout the 200 episodes, the quality of the visuals has never dropped, even when it was airing the side-story (Unlike the other *cough*Rasengan*cough*).

Architectural illustrations leave much to be desired though. :p Simple, straightforward, no effort put it there. Lol!

Sound effect wise, I would say it’s slightly above average with good background music to compliment the mood of the anime. But that seems pretty standard with all animes actually. :p

Bleach themes have been really good to my ears. I find myself enjoying and humming to quite a few of their themes. Definite points there. Bleach soundtrack is definitely worth buying!

If you have agreed with everything I have said so far. Then I don't see any reason not to give Bleach a 5-Star rating!
*Was originally tempted to give Bleach a 4-Star rating, due to the story being dragged out long enough. I never see the point of an anime having too many episodes. I believe having too much episodes kills the whole series, either instantly or slowly. But since Bleach didn't air fillers and scripted a proper and solid side-story. It came out with a 5-Star afterall.

  1. whoa are you sure about the quality? It has deteriorate over the years especially during fillers (yeah you called it side-story). However there are some episodes in recent years that have superb quality to it like in 166 (the infamous Grimmjow vs Ichigo). That was one fucking badass animation *fangasm*

but i do agree that this anime does not deserved less than 5 stars. It just too fucking EPIC!! in term of animation it is far superior to Naruto (i have to comment on it since you mentioned it). As for the story, it goes head to head. I still pick Bleach over Naruto any given day though. The fucking roxxor!!!

btw, do you read the manga as well?
