Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae - Second Impression

Photobucket
Original review here.

I have to be honest here. I probably watched only a handful of episodes after no. 13 before starting to skip again. I felt that the anime was just randomly showing stories and trying to bring the viewers down to a rather depressing mood. Even if it succeeded, it was redundant, seeing how it didn’t add to much regarding Yuzuki or Enma Ai. Every episode felt like a bad aftershave.
It was only at episode 22 that FINALLY, the story was starting to focus on Yuzuki and how she will react to Enma Ai wanting her to be the next Jigoku Shoujo. And it was these 5 beautifully crafted masterpiece episodes that this Mitsuganae series was all about. But at the end of the day, boring episodes outnumber the good ones 3 to 1 and hence I can’t bring myself to raise its ratings no matter how good the final episodes were.
